Writer, Award-Winning Author, and Certified Editor

I'm an award-winning author with 25 years writing experience, and I'm also a certified editor that has a BA in English. I know about writing and I know about publishing. Two of my books are traditionally published and I published three independently. I've worked with editors, designers, and publishers to create books I'm proud of.

I post to my WordPress blog weekly and create audio to go along with each post. For this, I use Audacity. Recently, I've helped clients preserve their family stories in digital text form and in audio interviews. I've had several years of experience as a newspaper columnist, and I still contribute to the local newspaper.

My passion is storytelling. I especially enjoy history around which I can weave a colourful narrative. The volunteer editing work I began in August is showing me that while I love telling stories, I'm also engaged by the editing process.

I'd love to hear about your fiction or non-fiction project. Please get in touch and let's talk about how we can make your work shine!

Summer Gardens – A Photo Blogpost

What a glorious time of year! Over time I’ve gathered some flower and garden pictures from my travels and from right here at home. Even the simplest prairie gardens are enchanted plots teeming with life in this northern place where the growing season is so short. These first […]

Paint Me New

During the summer, my time opens up. Suddenly, I’ve got more time to write, to visit, to just sit and do nothing, an activity of which I’m very fond. There’s time to wander around with my camera and wait for the birds to hold still. There’s time to […]

Massage Assumptions

Being manipulated by a man never felt so right. About five years ago now I threw a 70th birthday party for my dad. For the first time, I’d created a huge power point presentation – more like a movie than a slideshow. As a result of the work […]

Mexico in June

Crabs in the pool “What’s that in the pool?” It was a big crab. I wish I’d seen it before getting into the pool. Being a helpful Canadian, I stopped the first person in uniform who passed through the pool area. “I just want to let you know […]

Red Coat Reminiscing

Who knew that our wardrobes have the power to mark the passage of time as it sails by? I suppose it’s not that surprising as fashion is so fleeting. Shoulder pads, big hair, and blue eye shadow in still photographs and in older YouTube videos tell the story […]

There’s Something About the Rain

There’s something about the rain. It’s melancholy and soothing; it’s happy and sad all at the same time, and in the most pleasant way. It’s both romantic and lonely. Sleep comes so easy and deep when the rain falls. My dreams are filled with its soft pitter, patter, […]
