Canada Waits For Christmas – December 19th

Hello again! December 19th already. Today, I found hidden behind the cardboard door of the Canadian art and culture Advent calendar some very nice art pieces by Karin Richter who works with pastels, oils, acrylics, and watercolours to create colourful Canadian scenes. Early on, this artist-to-be completed her professional training in foreign languages and worked as a translator in Europe. In 1973, she moved to Montreal. Calgary has been Karin Richter’s home since 1977.

Murray McLauchlan is a Canadian singer/songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and bush pilot. He won the 1979 Juno Award for Folksinger of the Year, and McLauchlan was named Country Male Vocalist of the Year five times between 1980 and 1989. The song “Try Walkin’ Away” from his best-of album Songs From the Street won the Classics Award in 2008.

“Hey girl
Take a walk tonight
You don’t owe no man a thing
If he isn’t gonna treat you right”

Here’s a video I took yesterday of our very snowy backyard. Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening! – Lori 🙂

A gentle snowfall in my snow-filled backyard.
